Smoke Surfer

Takoda Madrona uses the inspiration of the ideas behind “ship in a bottle” designs to create a functional glass tube. Blue and white frit are used to replicate the look of breaking ocean waves. The 3-D surfer is sculpted onto the his board, which is created first, then placed inside the glass tube. This article was originally published on page 36 in the Fall 2013 issue of The Flow.
